Zoinks! 20 Hours of Video Uploaded Every Minute!
In mid-2007, six hours of video were uploaded to YouTube every minute. Then it grew to eight hours per minute, then 10, then 13. In January of this year, it became 15 hours of video uploaded every minute, the equivalent of Hollywood releasing over 86,000 new full-length movies into theaters each week.
Now, 20 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute, and it is a testament to the fact that you've made YouTube your online video home. We couldn't have built this site without your commitment to sharing your thoughts, experiences, and creativity with each other. We have news clips and full-length shows and movies, music videos and how-to content, sports highlights and animation, short films, homegrown videos, and, yes, all the dogs on skateboards you can watch. There's an audience for every type of content on YouTube, and we hope that with all this video, you can find whatever it is you're interested in on the site.
We're still developing new ways to upload videos to YouTube. Today we're launching a feature that allows users to conveniently record a video response immediately after watching a video, making the YouTube experience even more social. When the video you're watching ends, an icon encouraging you to respond will appear in the player. Clicking on the icon will activate your webcam and immediately bring you into the conversation.
So thanks, and let's see if we can get to 24 hours -- a full day's worth of video uploaded every minute.

Here's a currently list of bugs/glitches you guys need to quit ignoring and try to fix...
- Choppy video quality after a few seconds or minutes of watching.
- Repetitive search results
- Inbox still showing new messages after they've already been read and responded to.
- The excessive Javascripts errors when loading a video, or being taken to "this page cannot be displayed" due to Javascript when searching videos.
- Comments not being posted after "post comment" is clicked.
Among other things.

all this new new stuff won't mean a thing to me unless you do something about the playback for recent videos working better for slower computers. unless, the videos i watch have been uploaded within an hour, i can't seem to watch it correctly. please fix it. i know you're busy people, but this would go a long way for me to once again enjoying watching all you have to offer!

I think I'd never make use of that webcam thing but one thing Youtube should get rid of is rating comments. Or just leave the thumb up button. The thumb down is getting abused.

I know you take no time to consider the false flagging that is going on and you refuse to fix the bugs of vote bots because of the sheer extent of what is going on. you deliberately ignore your users. So if you still want 20 hours of video uploaded every minute I suggest you start listening and fix the damn bugs!
perhaps is more easy make another button before the share tab, with 2 links one to your videos and one to your favorites, and in this another with the last 10, and another with 10-20 etc., videos the user has rate or add and this give to the web ring servers of you tube less work, and the maintenance will be faster, just with a little code from the masters of you tube. Get rid of the 10 min limit, fix the inbox problems, and get rid of comment rating. THEN, start adding new features. Glad to know you're doing well. Please, keep up the good work.
y9utube listen, take away the damn 11 minute limut and make it 1+ HOURS LIMIT. so you can get about 50 hours every 30 seconds
I fully agree with the other posters here about the 10 min limit. It has to go! There are sermons, lectures, speeches, and home and community events like birthday parties, recitals, parades and civic functions that are just way too much hassle to post because you have to break them up into 10 min segments. Along with and related to this is the 1 gig file size limit. This also must be lifted. with all the HI Def stuff being posted now, it just makes sense!
With so much video it is only making sense that you make it so people can search videos based on what happens in them. You could do this by a technologically advanced approach of scanning the videos, OR, you could allow the masses to make a transcript of each video. This would be the killer feature.

10 minutes for all is kinda lame... maybe have it progressive.. like 15 mins after 6 months, 20 mins after a year.. and have it so you can only upload a 20 minute video once every week or two... put everyone in the same boat isnt how it should be done. ;)

it's 24 HOURS uploading. I can't even imagine the downloading. And at the same times, it's fast and free.
The only thing I HATE about youtube is the "This video is not available in your country" BS.
And, I also don't like the non-working comments system, full of either spam or REALLY stupid comments.
Learn from reddit or slashdot, their comment system works! (a bit... surely more than yours)
Please sort the whole spam thing out (like on Bebo, they say "But you've just posted that comment!" when you attempt to post the same comment more than once)
And also, when looking at video with a helluva lot of comments, can you make it so that the 'Newest' button actually works, regardless of how many thousands of comments on the video there are?

This is good news, but like many here, I am also frustrated with the 10 minute limit on videos. PLEASE EXTEND the 10 minute limit. I have actually been slowly moving everything away from youtube onto clipser, because their time limit is not limited. It is the size of the video that is limited to no more than 150 megs per video; It can be as long as you want. the 10 minute limit reallly sucks.

This is pretty impressive I must say. With this news, you guys should increase the time limit for the videos or remove them completely. I can't tell you how annoying it is that I can't upload certain videos because they're not under the 10 minute mark. Come on seriously, the shit is annoying.

zarek, the uploads are now up to 2 GB up from 1Gb...that is about 60 minites of video uploads, not bad
and now that Youtube increased the upload size, no telling how many more new youtube videos will be uploaded.
