An Update On Our View Counts
Video view counts reflect the YouTube community's interests and the grassroots popularity of videos. We periodically make changes that allow us to display consistent view counts and accurately reflect a "real" view based on video consumption, video streaming and spam filtering. Unfortunately, a few people still try to artificially manipulate their video's view counts. Some people game third-party view counts as well. That can make things unfair for everyone.
Recently, we found spamming issues associated with the view counts on a small number of videos. The inflated view count number on these videos will be frozen until actual views catch up to the published, artificial, view count. Also, a few people have commented that their view counts are updating more slowly. Occasionally the speed with which views update changes -- sometimes it’s faster and sometimes it’s slower. But we are always working to make sure that the final view count numbers are an accurate reflection of the community's interest.

Why don't you do something with music copyright instead of these views. Without music, there won't be any views..
Thank you! I hate when people use these "cheats" to get honors on their videos. It's not fair for the rest of us who want real viewers. I would much rather have 1,000 real viewers than 100,000 fake views.

Can ya also fix the counter for how many videos people watch. I mean I don't know if other users have the same problem, but my things says I seen over 30,000 videos. Like WTF I do watch videos, but not that many. Is not a big problem, I am just saying.
Thanks for providing us with a bit more information on the subject. Some people seemed to be in quite a panic over this. It's a bit unfortunate that this had to be done because of cheaters, though.
Yes, but what about videos that experience artificial DECREASING of views? You know, the videos that say 220 views while having over 1,000 text comments. Those sure must have a hard time determining if they're popular or not.

I hadn't noticed anything. Then again, how could you know the difference between view counts updating slowly and just less people watching?
Slower updates about the views just to keep it real about the views is acceptable. My only worry about this is if this information could be used in the opposite way to keep other people's videos down.

I am the owner of a an independent record label.
We carefully planned our youtube promotional release for best results,
but it was ruined by the frozen view counts! We know that we
should have had views well into the thousands, so this was hugely
frustrating for us!
We noticed the problems with view counts and, even with our tight
schedule, decided to hold back on the release. Finally, the view
counter appeared to be working again, although slowly, and we decided to go ahead with the release of our video. Even after all this, we were caught out with this bug.
Only after all this did we reupload our video numerous times and use view bot to simply try and push the counter past the freezing point (200-220 views).
This video release is the first in a promotional series which has been
well advertised and I feel that, as a result of these problems, our
advertising camapin has been destroyed due to being unable to become one of 'today's most viewed'. YouTube's apparent lack of interest in this problem and now disrespect towards users is an absolute disgrace!

This statement seems to say if your views are frozen you must be

Michelle Schlachta, you do realise that people will use view bots, just like rating bots, to freeze innocent channels don't you?! There have been so many complaints about spam bots artificially rating down videos which have been ignored by youtube! Now YOU have created another way for users to FUCK UP other users accounts!
It would appear that the attempt to fix video views has had unintended consequences. There will always be people who try to game the system. Instead of trying to impose your will on them, support those who work within your system.
I have 2 videos with frozen views and would like the issue resolved. The effort to create content has few rewards. The feedback from the views helps make it worth while.
So now new creative users (who have no idea how to manipulate the system) are being falsely accused of using bots and spaming?! Frozen without question or recourse? A medium designed to give the undiscovered a chance has now deliberately placing a glass ceiling over our heads? This is grossly unfair and will not be tolerated.

I could care less about views. Others do. I care more about my videos being up and viewable,rather than occasionally showing as being "No Longer Available". Then available. Then no longer available. You monkey with code too long,and it will crash on its own.
My views aren't frozen it's just slower to update. It's much much slower to update!
I sat at 201 views for over 6 hours. Any honors I might have gotten if it updated normally ( which was always slow to begin with) are gone because it doesn't update normally. How is that fair? I'm not the only one this is happening to. You want to make it fair for everyone- great. But what's happening is it's now just unfair for everyone because a few people messed it up. Super.

I challenge anyone to name ONE video with a frozen view count that was actually "cheating," because I have yet to find any evidence of it. And from all the information I'm aware of, essentially, if you watch your own video, the view count freezes or slows down dramatically. How fair is that? How is a system that results in videos having more comments than views (which is absolutely impossible) a good system at all? Of course people who are Youtube partners or in the top most-viewed/subscribed lists don't seem to be experiencing any of these view count issues at all...like everything Youtube/Google does, this is all about MONEY. Maximizing their profit is all they care about, and is pretty obviously at the heart of this issue.
people who subscribe to my newsletter expect to get "videos of the day". Why are these views not counted? This is not spam!!!!! View counts just sit there when they used to flourish. I actually did legitimate marketing for my videos.
But of course, this isn't anything new. Youtube has been freezing and artificially manipulating view counts and making comments disappear for months. They used to only do it to videos that made Youtube/Google look bad as a method of Communist China-esque censorship, but now they're essentially doing it to everyone who isn't making them any money.
Not to mention that, like most new things Youtube comes up with, this system is flawed and easily exploited. Just like how anyone can claim copyright on a video and get it removed regardless of whether or not they actually own the content in question (Youtube makes no effort whatsoever to check the authenticity of copyright claims), anybody can now use a view-increasing bot to freeze the view count on someone else's video. Nice one!

But I doubt Youtube will do anything about that, because the "community's intrest" really just means "Google HQ's interest."

I've finally start getting good subscribers and people to watch my videos and then THIS? Why can't you just let videos BE! I've been stuck for almost 2 weeks and I've practically doubled in subscribers since then. Yet my views aren't moving. You can't stop people from botting and spamming. YOU JUST CAN'T. Sheez, you guys! I'm an artist who is learning video and would like to make videopoetry, and performance poetry pieces. I am in the 'art film' category, which you don't even offer in your categories, that's how significant we are. Yeah, I watch my own videos as I try to figure out how to do a better job! Sometimes every day. After awhile I take the amateurish ones out of public and put them in private - there is one in particular I need to re-film right now too. YouTube should not be counting my own assessing of my work! Nor should I be docked for viewing my own work-in-progress. And YouTube definitely SHOULD NOT be docking me as a spammer, which is ridiculous. I am not happy that my counts have been blocked when YouTube should have an automatic filter for views from the user's computer. Who do I complain to? Who's the VP, or the paper: YouTube discriminates against small time video artists!
If you value the community's interests it's time to start listening to the community.
As others have mentioned, the bot users have long been using bots to abuse genuine accounts, and now you've made it possible for them to screw with thousands more innocent accounts.
This isn't new news, all this is mentioned in your own community forums, but instead of people actually reading the feedback, you've gone ahead and basically insulted thousands of innocent users.
All this was avoidable, the new system was shown to be flawed on day one, but you chose to ignore the community, instead of improving the site.
So, what next?
When are you going to have the sense to admit this has been a mistake, the courage to apologize, and the good grace to give people their views back?
Might I suggest, before you make anymore blogs, you actually go and read your own community forums, and find out what's going on, perhaps that way you won't insult half your members next time?

I have over 26,000 friends/fans on myspace. When I release a video i ask them to add it to their profile, and they do. Hundreds of them... Is that spamming? Because based on my embed info, only .28% (YES .28%) of total come from "profile.myspace.com" previously it would be in 20-40% range.

It's good that you guys are trying. :) I would work on some kind of "interestingness" rating based on a combination of views/favorites/comments/ratings/views.
But regardless of what you guys do, the gaming will continue. Just try not to condone it with granting partnership to people that OBVIOUSLY game the system. I just give others reason to do the same.

why don't you just make an option that shows the number of times the video was clicked on vs. the number of views in which people watched the ENTIRE video. that way both would be displayed!! i think i should copyright that lol!! :D
So, if I upload a topical video that gets a lot of hits quick it WILL freeze and views will be lost. Fact! Hence why my Red Nose Day video and David After Dentist videos have suffered. Thanks a lot.
Most of my videos are big based on views not comments - because I only have 240 subs and the videos are about current events. This is ridiculous. How will I ever grow on YouTube then?

I've created a thread with a Views Counter Test at http://help.youtube.com/group/youtube-issues/browse_thread/thread/9ab16b9c7ad368a6#. The purpose is to post a link to a frozen view there and get six people to watch it and confirm it is frozen. In turn, you watch six videos. Please read the first posting in the thread for details and then add your link to the bottom.

I think we need to show YouTube that not everyone affected by this is cheating. I'm hoping we can present YouTube with a reasoned response and they will in turn return the favor.

At 12:42 am PST on Sunday, 11 of the 20 videos on the "Most Viewed" Comedy first page are from failblog.
I've never seen one user dominate any category front page like this on YouTube ever. Maybe it's a fluke, or maybe the new system isn't working too good.
So let me get this right.. I am a partner with autoplay.. if I go to my page a few times to check updates or changes on my page you will assume I am cheating because I am viewing my own video.. although thats part of YOUR system... you know the autoplay feature.. so for hours on end I cannot view my own page unless I turn off autoplay.. FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL.. total fail.. BTW I had several videos stuck on 202 views for days on end for no reason.. I barely get 1000 views on my vlog videos.. why on earth would you freeze the counter on that? such a stupid system.. I still see spammers making it to the top of the lists..
Why is You Tube allowing all those CASH GIFTING videos on this site. Those schemes are defined as illegal in most states.? People are falling for them and getting scammed.

The view count on at two of my movies posted on 19th & 20th Feb have not updated for six days now. If I have been included in the above frozen sites I would like to know why as I have in no way faked my view count. When is YouTube going to correct this and update the counts with all those missing hits that should be there? YouTube depends of free uploads, so why is it continually making life difficult for those content providers.
What about THE STARS under /browse videos? They countered faked view counts and YOU TOOK THEM AWAY! Does YT have some kind of employment policy that favors idiots?
Now Timmy accuses CheekTV of spamming and I'm essentially getting what I deserve. I don't even know how to use bots etc. If I did, would I have just 250 subs? No.

My views come from catching the Zeitgeist and video responses. Not from sitting there hitting refresh or paying someone to do it (or however else it's done). Explain this...if it's people gaming the system, how does sxephil etc get frozen for ages, with their overall view counts seemingly less too?
This issue is YouTube wide and I'm getting closer and closer to writing a press release "End Of Web 2.0" and listing ALL of YouTube's failings and sending it out to my friends in the media. If they weren't #1 and owned the biggest search engine online people would speak up. Partners have more to lose as they make money from Google Adsense etc.

What is going on at YouTube? First you degrade our movies by removing the HQ option for a far inferior quality, now you have the audacity to freeze some movies, accusing the owners of manipulating their viewer count.
Surely YouTube has enough sense to know that when a new video is posted, the owner tells all their friends. This usually boosts the viewer count very quickly, so does this mean they are cheating?

I have several videos that have had a frozen view count for about a month now. I don't think it's very fair to the people that actually get legitimate views to suffer because of the people who cheat. Punishing every single person doesn't sound like a very logical solution. Quite frankly, ever since all of this copyright violation garbage, I've lost a ton of respect for youtube.

I concur with IceT4revor. I am also a casualty of the frozen view count, and never once used any sort of cheating method they seem to be accusing us of. I don't know what community they're listening to, because they're definitely not listening to this one!

- It will search for new videos on a given keyword.
- It will get the video id's.
- It will send 200-300 views to each video.
That way a single computer can freeze upto 1000 videos/day. If we

Yep, YouTube have been badly owned, and now their kicking the ordinary members in frustration.
Apparently they lost a little war with these guys earlier this year (see the site for details) so it's not the first time.
Meanwhile, back over here, as the comments show, all the little guys suffer.
oh, and note the dates folks, this insulting blog, implying that everyone here was cheating came AFTER most of those posts from the spammers, so it wasn't exactly a secret, and yet YouTube still opennly insulted the membership here, and made them suffer.

I spent almost 2 days editing this video so it is in the very best shape possible to post on youtube, then I post it and spend another 10-12 hours getting the youtube url and/or embed code on dozens of other websites and widely viewed mediums to increase its visibility and bring views and adsense hits to youtube and to me, Then I send it as direct email to over 2,500 folks and after 2 days amass these

Every week I watch the same privileged few get featured week after week after week. Those who don't need the help get showered with the complimentary exposures that result in MILLIONS of views and no doubt tens of thousands of dollars. Every week.
I get so frustrated that after all the thouands of hours of labor over the last 2 years, I am not worthy of being featured one single time. So I try to compensate for that by overworking on my end, unloading fresh new quality videos with regularity and increasing my base so that I can at least have respectable numbers, though not near those of the Youtube privileged few. Then my viewcount freezes at 236. I am through uploading videos on youtube. I feel like I have wasted incredible amounts of time and money. And all I ever did was try to impress the powers that be and gain exposure thru hard work, not happenstance. If anyone anywhere in the Youtube Sanheidren would put themselves in my postition, this would be clear.
That's the problem with the new system, BIGFOOTBUBBA, 2,500 genuine users, coming in from email, so no referer, and some on proxies, they look like bots, so they don't count.
Apart from the cheerleading morons, who would say "YAY! Go YouTube" at anything YouTube did (even cutting their heads off), most other people can see the new system is majorly flawed.
Everyone wants to see the back of spammers (except maybe the spammers themselves) but, contrary to the deceptive blog here, that's not what has ended up happening here, real views are not being counted, spammers are screwing with other peoples real accounts, and by all accounts some of the spammers are meanwhile still spamming the site.
It's a monumental mess up.

I've never spammed a video. And yet I have a video that has been frozen for 2 1/2 weeks. My last video was one of the first videos that I decide to embed and promote on other sites as well as use a wap to promote to a phone network of over 10,000 people. What did I get. Another frozen video that got less views than any other video. What ever your doing is not working for the regular user. Been stuck on 2,099 all day. Here we go again. Someone's clearly got it in for me and spamming my vid. Otherwise, why would it just stick for days/hours on end? Sexephil is stuck at 237 and he's not amused either (he's a partner with 354,664).
You may already know this but I discovered a common factor in my INSIGHT for the three frozen movies that I have with this problem.
(1) VRL/Other(?) ( where movie URL has been sent to friends via IM or email) YouTube can't verify source and if you get a lot of views here they may be interpreting it as VC manipulation.
(2) Embeded Player. Youtube can identify source, but if a big percentage of your views come from there, it may also be interpret
ed as VC manipulation.
If you have a frozen movie, check your INSIGHT and if it has either of the above and they are over 50% this could well be the reason.
Look Youtube/Google : here's the grownup solution to your problem : just HIDE those ridiculous view counts, or even better : just REMOVE them completely.
Then you can filter & freeze as much as you like, 24/24 and 7/7 if you feel the need .

i just dont get the problem what youtube should do is nothing let the view count be free meaning if one person watches his videos 2 billion times then he gets 2 billion views becuase in reality he is watching the video there fore he is viewing it therefore it should count right, WRONG what the views point out is how many people are watching your videos but the problem is that its impossible to get people to watch them with the millions other people doing the same thing out there. so what i TRULY recommend is going on a point systym meaning in order to upload a video you neeed to comment diffrendt videos like 10 comments per 5 min of video and you need to view at least 20 videos or something then evreyone whouldnt have a problem

Look it is not just YouTube.
Viewbot hackers are going to 1000's of subscribers and entering 200 to 300 views at a time to freeze our videos. With just 3 computers they can infiltrate 100 to 1000's of videos in a day. You Tube started it with this poorly planed view fix.

The viewbot hackers have capitalized on this, and are attacking as many videos as they can. This is to help shut down YouTube. I just talk to some one from Japan and they have frozen views to.
Now these bad guys are making up bogus comments to boost rates. People who want to look better than they are pay for this software for $100.00. They are making up to $20.000 a week. The problem is it is not legal under FCC regulations to do this. This is CYBER TERRORISM any way you look at it.

I am wondering, since it's only one of my videos that has a view count frozen at 201, if it's because after I uploaded the video I sent links to all my friends through my private mail (rather than YouTube's service since some people had complained about their addresses used for spam by YouTube).
If I sent a link to that video, which is a small dance/art film' piece of work, to 50 people in Toronto, where I live, and they all dropped by to view it, would that appear as spammers?
Which they most definitely are not.
I spent some time writing and editing the comment in the editorial, and I've posted that video quite a few places and hence have started the viewer on it myself a number of times each time I go in to grab the url.
Meaning, is either of these two possibilities- a number of views in a short time span in one location, the city I live in, or personally going in to the site and starting the viewer each time -why that particular video's view counts has been inexplicably 'frozen'?
Or have I been targeted by actual spammers, and YouTube just hasn't informed me that my work has been hit by that kind of attack?
I'd personally like more information on what is going on with the frozen view count - re: telling us exactly what it is that's caused the lock down.

It seems a shame that You Tube provides a great community for people to share videos and a great business opportunity for You Tube and Google and all this is doing is sending us off to other sites. Blip.TV, Veoh for example, who else can we mention? Come on why should we submit free content to you tube, that they can make money from if we don't get something in return. We make the content and therefore create the traffic that makes You Tube worth anything. A view count that works, isn't much to ask. All my recent videos are on 200-210 views, like everyone else.
I'll give it a few more days then start moving to other sites.

if you know anything about how view bots works you'd know that the view bot uses random proxies so there's no way that youtube can stop this, sexphil had only 200 views in 6 hours since he post his video, now he have 108k views, its impossible. by now he should have more than 200k views lets not to mention he have over 340k subs. youtube is fucking everything

I wonder about the view count change. I'm relatively new to uploading on youtube but I uploaded a video last night to break and youtube at the same time and I have 10,000 views on Break and 117 views on youtube. Seems kind of strange.
What if someone..used this viewbots to just piss people off...

I hope you figure out how to block multiple view counts from the same IP within a certain criteria level, say more than 1 hit per hour, per IP. Perhaps even per day from the same IP if you want to be sure you get authentic "Unique Visitors".
Cut out those same IP hits and you'll have very accurate numbers, in my humble opinion.
I also want to say MASSIVE KUDOS to YouTube et al. for all the dedication and skill you place for the community to have been able to scale the growth and have uploads process in minimal time (20 minutes from my experience)... to having the HD link appear in under an hour.
I am thoroughly and completely impressed by the sheer magnitude of your market penetration to accomplish a very good Service Level with your users.

Well Facebook just lost me with their recent absurd updates. Now I'm considering leaving Youtube. I've had videos up for a year and half, but since about 2 months ago it's been nothing but problems, glitches, annoyances...now the damn viewcount is stuck at 202. It's just a constant flow of problems...
I'm shocked at how many users are having the same problem and are equally disgusted with the service.
I am going to give youtube some slack. But if they keep my videos frozen much longer, then I will quit youtube. Simple as that. I dont like the implication that I am cheating, my views come from real viewership.

I think it would really help, if Michelle would have defined the expression "actual view" more precisely. Maybe she is protecting YT from any new hacks by staying unclear about it, but if this wasn't the intention behind this expression, she really could have given us further explanatiions to what an "actual view" is (view from unique user, full-length view, etc.).
Insights arent working either..my hot links on my 4 videos wont show up..thats a glitch as well..If you guys were going to cease all view counts you could of given up uploaders a warning..people rely on view counts for many reasons..you should figure out how to track IP's then..it wasnt fair to us who upload, and have view numbers stick at 201 or 202..for 24 HOURS..just not fair..and it's stupid..fix the insight part..and maybe we can all have OUR VIEW COUNTS BACK we all lost..I dont even want to post video's here anymore :(
I am getting sick of it. I got one view for a video that had many comments today. I also have two other videos frozen at 201. The video was frozen for a week. I give youtube two days. Then I quit.
The issue surrounding the current view count failure has certainly become a hot topic within the YT community. Having that said, it is apparent that view counts are an important way for uploaders to measure the "hits" on a given video. It is indeed frustrating to be without an accurate way to calculate how many times a particular video is viewed.

What about adding related video responses to ones own videos? I have no idea why I'm being penalized. How this would happen to the last 3/30 of my more recent videos is still a mystery. Not only that, most youtubers with this issue seem to have a window of a couple days before their viewers are updated. I have had 3 videos stuck at 201, 202, and 201 viewers for 1-3 weeks already. How can I have confidence that acting appropriately within a community such as youtube will return the same privileges as other users? This doesn't seem fair!
why not allow us to view number of ratings and favorites for all our videos at a glance on "My Videos" page so we don't have to click on our own videos?

I totally understand that YouTube had to and the key word here is TRY
to fix the view count problem.
So YouTube Implements a software program that if you get 200 the magic
number views from one source then your view count is automatically
frozen until it sorts out the true views from the manufactured views.
This is to keep people from boosting up there views.
OK this is the problem with this system. Anybody who wants to freeze
some one only has to go to that site and keep
hammering 200, 300 times and that person is froze. The system looks at
this as, artificially manipulate, fake, spamming, streaming etc.
This is the big problem. I think there are some people out there
purposely doing exactly this, and there doing it in mass numbers. This
is not rocket science.
They can take a few computers send view hits at 250 to 350 at a time.
Hammering one subscribers video after another.
before you no it in a very short time they have frozen 100 to 1000’s
of subscribers anywhere they want.
This fix has open the door for this hammering soft ware to be sent out
to 100’s of people who do not like YouTube and want to see them fail,
and the average everyday subscriber is caught in the middle.
I don't buy it, not one bit of it. The "blackop" kiddies that keep hammering youtube accounts are the ones that need to be taught a lesson. Instead it seems like youtube has put up a white flag and let it hang upon suspense filled youtubers. I'm guessing the programming dept. that deals with these issues is not being mitigated between departments appropriately. OR youtube is working on something else to correct the problem. Take your time youtube, we're waiting for you to get it right! In the meantime we are welcomed by free liberation and global prosperity, without weapons of war! :) Good luck youtube, I hope you find a way to stop it at the source. I would like to see a geographical map of the suspect locations. Proxy or not, the hop routes can be traced.
This is BS. I launched a show this morning at the video is STUCK at 261, just like the first episode that was stuck at 201, until I emailed enough people about it and then magically it start to go up. This was after thousands of people went there via articles, etc. Views are the life blood of success within this YouTubian world. I want my views back and I am going to go to every news source that will listen if my emails remain unanswered.

I really do appreciate YouTube trying to solve this issue, though right now, it is really ticking me off since my videos are frozen at 201 views yet I do NOT try to fake my views one bit. Please YouTube, undo or atleast fix this issue. Many users are getting upset over this ridiculous "upgrade". The community has spoken.

Our videos are stuck at 201, 243, 261 and similar, and we have too much press coverage of our show to not have more views. I can't help but smell a rat... what are you up to, YouTube? Does this have to do with an impending deal / need to cut down competition from independent producers? FIX IT.

Traditionally, 200 views was the limit for the number of views a person can contribute to a video. After that, when a person goes to that video another time, they don't contribute to the number of views anymore. That's why 200 is the "magic number". Personally, I think that it should've been less than that in the first place, but whatever. Still against this policy to a high degree.

Many of my videos play counts are locked - one of them at 224, even after the video was posted by 50 of my friends on facebook.
We love YouTube, don't punish the masses for the indiscretion of a few.
This really seems to hurt people who have strong marketing campaigns for a web series or a particular video they're promoting. If the promo is strong, the video will get a ton of hits right away - that doesn't mean someone is manipulating the view count. It could just mean they have a couple of well placed Twitters about it.
People rely on an accurate view count to determine the success of their show. This shouldn't be compromised because a spam issues on a "small number of videos".

I don't want them to change it back. I think it is a good idea to punish these people using cheats and gaming to get huge view counts. I do want them to figure out a way for me to get my views back and the non cheaters. The old way didn't work, but the new way doesn't either. Figure out a new way, or it will be another FB debacle. Where hundreds of thousands of viewers are leaving.
What amuses me is that when I post a "Video Response" to my own video it counts as a view....sooooo if I want to post 200 video responses then I guess I'm %$^$&%^# myself huh? Youtube....fix the problem or we'll go elsewhere....you're not the ONLY game in town anymore!

The problem with the views is fraud ISP Numbers. So what if You had to put your valid Email Address to be able to view a video. To do anything on the net you have pretty much give your emails address anyway. I doubt the view botters and spammers could fake that. Then that way every view could be fair and verified as real. Ok so some people may be reluctant to want to do this but at least what ever you get would be honest and a true fair counted view.

Here's the reality of the matter.....if there's a way to get around a roadblock then someone will figure it out. The problem is Youtube is punishing the rest of us while they TRY and fix it. It's very silly.
I posted a vid today that was popular fairly quickly and the link for the vid was posted on a few blogs by people who liked it and suddenly it freezes at 234 views.
It's not being spammed or artificially inflated they are real views! youtube you need to sort this mess out I know I am not the only one. Thanks.
So if someone likes one of our videos.. favorites it and watches it a few times we get punished because 1 person likes it enough to watch it a few times.. STUUUUUPID!

i for one like to watch PVs & mp3 videos a lot each day. that's my habit. is that considered as manipulating views count? i don't even sign up on my account whenever i watch a vid but if i do like one and wish to rate or favorite, i login so that causes the vid to be watched by me twice... or more if i want to watch it again later. is that manipulating as well? i've read that only unique isp will get counted as real view. then one computer is only allowed to watch the same video once in let's say, a day? get real.

What is up with the Honors as well. I had 150 subscribers this past week, and no most subscribed yada yada on my page. Another blow to the little man.
Everone knows i get millions of hits. have you seen the video posted yesterday? Just under a thousand hits! it got 202 in less than 5 minutes when it wnt up and "froze" on 202" for 8 hours. i generally get around 140,000 the first day a video is up. It's ridiculous.
YouTube will have to change or i'll be better off posting on my website.

let's say they have 200k subs, how their video exceeds 800k views in just 2 days ? its impossible even if it gets featured, i have seen many featured videos and i have never see them exceed 1million views when they are in the front page stay and all week long. how about check your partners probably they are the one who are cheating, it makes me wonder how can someone become so popular in just a few weeks

Its weird, they say '' videos will be frozen until actual views catch up to the published '' but some people getting too many views and they should have already catched up to the published..but they still got a problem..

Concerning the view count, since every video were frozen, one of my most popular video had 2.000 views advance on a similar video by a Brazilian man it has now been reduced to 900, mine is viewed by the public and he has been cheating.I go to work in the morning and when i came back he is advancing at a fast pace His user name is Klavac the video is elvis also zarathrusta see see rider.
I dont know how he does it.
