The CNN/YouTube Debate: How Did They Do?
Did you see it? Last night's CNN/YouTube Debate was easily the most exciting debate of the presidential primary season. With your questions driving the debate, and with the presidential primaries just weeks away, the Republican candidates sparred on important issues like the economy, Iraq and immigration. It was a lively discussion and you can see all the clips here.
We also had some stellar YouTube users in attendance who provided a great behind-the-scenes look at what took place. Check out some of their videos in this playlist.
But you didn't have to be at the debate in order to offer your opinions on what happened. Upload your post-debate thoughts, ideas, analyses or rants to our special post debate page and tell the candidates how you think they did!

Hey Steve,
Dude, there's a massive crisit of credibility regarding this debate. There are a HUGE number of bad articles, videos, and content on this. Indeed, the only completely happy people are the ones you or someone picked to go to the debate. I, for one, am disheartened to see how this has taken a step toward "anti-democracy" and how CNN didn't even promote it well at all. Plus, you could have contacted those of us who didn't know what to expect due to the first time around. Many problems --- gotta solve em.
I liked that there weren't as many goofy videos, but CNN shouldn't be the ones who pick the questions. They only make YouTube look bad.
Ya thats great, first we have to listen to Anderson Clueless all night, then we get yet another planted question by HC, and now we get this liberal dweeb giving his take on a Republican debate. How appropriate!
I agree - Ron Paul wasn't at his best that night - but he is the most sane out of both parties. CNN was extremely biased towards Ron Paul - the first question was a "guilty till proven innocent" question - making people believe he's a conspiracy theorist, and the last question was a not even a question - it was a statement - saying ron paul stands no chance of winning the republican race. He got to speak 8 times, while romney spoke 22. CNN did a terrible job.
Umm, there were no questions on Iraq...
cnn put a lot of Dem plants with pro dem questions
i'll tell you what, that debate was like a cat fight!!
It is a shame that CNN/YouTube has a cloud hanging over the debate by allowing Democratic supporters to pose so many of the questions. It does not appear to reflect the views of independents and republicans, which are the ones that will vote in the primaries for these folks. Big deal, probably not ... disappointing ... YES.
Ahhh Youtube... I don't know what's worse: the fact you're a video hosting website trying to be political; or the fact that most of your demographic of rich Californian kids miming to pop songs aren't actually old enough to vote yet.
I don't really see how you call 2 hours of boring canned answers with a poor moderating and such INTERESTING and GERMENE questions an exciting debate. How many guns do you own? Relevance? Yankee's or Red Socks? Can we get a question that matters! I didn't watch this thing to be entertained I watched it to gain an insight into the candidates and their positions on the issues. Instead I got softball question aimed at entertainment that failed in every category.
