Calling All Creative Types...

We'd like to introduce you to the Creator's Corner, a new hub for aspiring video-makers. This section of the site brings together all the information a budding artiste could want to know about making videos, including:

We think of this as just the beginning: we're currently working on setting up some Webinars to help you take your video-making to the next level, and we're seeking out some of the most accomplished video producers on YouTube to grill them on the techniques, inspiration and secrets behind their videos. (First up: read about tilt-shifting and timelapse in Keith Loutit's "Metal Heart" video.)

In addition, we're eager to expand our badge gallery, so if you have an awesome graphic you'd like to share with others to help them advertise their YouTube presence on their own site, email it to ytcreators@gmail.com and we'll consider it for inclusion on the page. If we do add your graphic to the Corner, we'll be sure to credit you there and send you a T-shirt as thanks.

So please give the site a whirl and let us know what you think -- and what you'd like to see -- in the comments below or in the forum.

Mia Quagliarello, Community Manager, recently watched "The Old City of Dubrovnik."

YouTube HD player wide screen is now wider than the 16.9 ratio as it should be. It leavess unused portions on both sides. It looks sloppy and unprofessional, it's not proportional anymore. Please make the HD screen 16.9 ratio again!

Thanks YouTube for making this! It's a very good idea and I went to it today and it helped me get some answers to a few questions I had about Partnership! Keep up the good work and I am sure I will be visiting the "Creator's Corner" in the future!

instead of promoting new "creative corners", you might want to check on the very un-creative ability of your staff in Italy, which has apparently decided to censor all politically related material, even though it's not copyright-protected nor offensive in any way, solely because it contrasts with your staff's views.
(I'm talking about all the Marco Travaglio and Beppe Grillo videos, which average more or less 3-400.000 views each)

Democracy is thin in this country, please restrain yourselves from making it any thinner.
thank you.

Thanks to staff in Italy which decided to censor all 400 and more videos of Beppe Grillo.

You grant the same level of press freedom like in Turkmenistan ?

R-munoz touched on this topic, and I vented in my video #330.

Please stop changing the aspect ratios of the various sizes of the video player without warning or explanation. Change is inevitable, but change without explanation or warning is uncool.

Ralfonzo83 had a beautiful 856x360 test video for the large Cinemascope 2.39:1 player. Just as I was trying to imitate his work, the large player's aspect ratio changed to 2:1. No announcement. No announced formatting tags to get rid of the sudden letterboxing despite the existence of formatting tags that had worked great after the 16:9 player first came out last year. I haven't seen any yt:crop=2:1 or yt:stretch=2:1 announced. New tags along those lines might be in order. Documenting URL parameters to modify player size might also help.

YouTube staff in Italy are doing censorship without following any law.
Also a lot of old videos from RAI (public television) are removed any day (under RAI requests) without any reason!!!
Please check your staff in Italy!!!!

Italy is 73th on the rank for freedom of information. Help us not to worsen!

Hey YouTube, you mind making an announcement that you are NOT closing? Ever? Because the YouTube closing rumors are just getting out of hand now and we need proof from the YouTube Team themselves to tell the people who actually believe those rumors that you are NOT closing on 9/29/09.

I'm glad to see this kind of revision, as the help center wasn't geared enough towards this kind of thing. This is especially useful with all the unusual tags that have been coming out.

Hey Team!
I'm wondering if there's any way to get involved in helping to make the Creator's Corner even better, besides the badges, etc.
Do you need people to make videos for the new area of the site, under some of the categories you mentioned? It would be neat for YouTube to reach out to some smalled users in and around the community to create tutorials, how-to's, and advice videos.
I, for one, would be willing to sign up to do this ASAP.
Just let me know ;)

Is YOUTUBE aware that it has become a complete headache to login to the account lately? All my friends have stopped using youtube since a google login was added because no one is able to login anymore.

Hi Youtube Team: My site is dragging on the video speeds. Would you speed them up so they don't drag? A viewer has commented on it. Thank you for excellent service. Cindy
