New Features For Channels: Category Browsing & Comments Moderation
New features for channels we hope you dig:
BROWSE CHANNELS BY CATEGORY
All channels are now categorized so you can more easily find your favorite creators and videos. On the Channels page, under All, you can browse for channels uploading videos to categories like Film & Animation, News & Politics, Sports, etc. You can also use this functionality to filter your results to show Partners only.
MODERATE COMMENTS ON YOUR CHANNEL
Now you can moderate all comments other users leave on your channel page.
To turn this feature on, go to the Edit Channel Info page in My Account. There you can change your settings to allow comments from "Friends" or "Everyone" to display on your channel automatically or only once you have approved them. All comments waiting for your approval are highlighted on the "see all" page of your channel comments. Once you have chosen which individual comments you want to approve, click the "Approve Selected" button. If your email options are set to notify you of new bulletins or comments on your channel, the link in your email brings you to the page where you can approve selected comments.

I don't think I have too much of a use for these features right now. They broke the bulletin system, and Active Sharing hasn't been working right for a few weeks.
I agree they really need to fix these problems and now im getting Authorization erros =/
channel comments is cool but fix the bullitens
Fix the bulletins, and bring back the old way how we put on backgrounds (with urls) or put both, urls, and uploading!!!! Please youtube

Is is it possibe when you embed a video to your site that other people can see the video in hight quality on your website. Maybe is this a new feature for you guys. I preffer hight quality always playing on my website. Not that you can choose to play also in standaart, hope you guys understand. Thanks for the great features

Would love it if there could be more than 10 comments on a page.
Also, would be great if there were a Next button to view the next set of comments *right on the channel page* instead of having to go to View All Comments. Because of that tedious step of having to go to View All Comments, most people don't do that. If there was a "View Next 10 Comments" or whatever link right on the channel, it would be much easier to scroll through comments.
The reason I ask for these is because some channels act like small group forums, with friends meeting there and leaving comments. But the above restrictions limit that severely.

Thank you so much for improving the full-screen functionality. It used to be that the video would restart when going back to normal view from the full-screen. Now it resets itself to the place you left off. I donno if this is more of a Flash issue, but it really improves my YouTube experience, thanks.
I'd like to hide a comment or unhide a comment, rather than EVER delete them. I'd also like it if people could NOT mark a message as SPAM by themselves. It should take 2 votes from different users. Another feature I would like is the ability to feature comments. Many videos have over 500 comments, but how many are really worth reading? I'd like to be able to "bump up" good comments to the top of the "first ALL COMMENTS page". That way the readers can get the best (IMO) instead of being buried by FURSTS!!11 or generic praising or hating. Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd I'd like a way to have a FULL PERSONAL COMMENT HISTORY. It's like, I don't remember what I posted and where sometimes and I'd like to go back sometimes and see what's developed since. Hopefully these requests are seen as reasonable. :)

Choosing "Friends can automatically
comment, all others only with approval" doesn't work properly. If you select this option, non-friends cannot comment at all... they get the "This user only allows comments from friends" message!

Separating individual mails for private messages and shared videos is LONG overdue, and I honestly don't understand why you combined those two events in the first place.
I DO want to get notified every time someone sends me a private message.
Yet, that does NOT automatically mean that I want to receive an email every time someone shares a video with me.
Frankly: Just because I subscribed to someone's channel or decided to be friends with them does NOT automatically mean that I want to receive hundreds of videos they feel like sharing with me.
If I subscribe to someone's channel I do that in order to be notified of new uploads to that channel - period.
So PLEASE give us the option of NOT being notified everytime someone feels like I need to look at a video, or (even better) give us the choice to reject shared videos in general.
And no - the way it currently works (automatically canceling notification emails for PRIVATE MESSAGES only because I choose to not be notified of SHARED VIDEOS anymore) is NOT sufficient.

Oh, and for god's sake: Change the comment system on here towards how it works on the regular YT platform, and allow line breaks. Otherwise comments (such as my last one) are a pain to read (sorry everyone)... :o(

Hello: I appreciate the wonderful opportunity that you have given all of us on Youtube. I need your help. My videos are very very very slow now, slower than they have been. I can tell by the amount being watched, and when I watch them, and by comments from others about my videos. What is with the "enabling comments"
thing? I have noticed yet again I cannot access the second page of channel comments. Most of the time I do not care but when you have a whole community built around a channel it is fun to read past comments.
Are people even aware of this? How
do we "enable" comments?
This is a TERRIBLE idea. One of the biggest uses of comment moderation is censorship of opposing viewpoints. Propaganda is now being posted on YouTube only to appear as consensus because of the YouTuber's moderation. The comments system of YouTube will fail if this isn't fixed. Moderation should be left to YouTube staff.
Moderation should be in the hands of the people/person who owns/registered the channel not You tube staff.

I like the idea of comments moderation in order to keep the derogatory stuff out.
Why does my channel comments indicate 6 comments but there are only four, this was same situation when I had 3 it said 5. Cannot find a way to discover what the other 2 comments are, Any suggestions pls?
great to have control over the comments in your channel....you can get some real racy comments ----if you know what I mean :)
